View Full Version : Applying Your Accessory Credit

Kelly

For forecasting purposes, it is best if you place your accessory order sooner rather than later and place the deposit down. If you are part of the early reservation holders getting the credit toward accessories, we will apply it at the time we invoice you. I hope this clears up any questions you may have.

Thanks!

Hi Kelly,

thanks for clearing this up. Recent info was indeed somewhat confusing.
Mmmh, so I need to get to the online store if it ever gets available again from germany...

Cheers,
Axel

Hi Kelly, I know this has been answered once or twice but I wouldn't mind hearing from the horses mouth... not that you're a horse... although horses are elegant creatures so when you think about it it's not that much of an insult... not sure why I'm still writing :)... anyway... If I order an 18-50mm Zoom lens will it be available for delivery along with the camera? Mine's #445, tentative shipping date is August.

is there anything i need to do to move my zoom reservation from the 18 - 85mm to the 18 - 50mm?

Hi Kelly,

I have not yet placed an order for accessories because we were told that the different pieces of the cage, etc. would be available separately and not just as a package. I would like to be able to sort through all of the options before "locking in" an order.

Thanks,

Haakon

I was told that as a reservation holder I had no reason to put a reservation down on accessories because they would be readily available when my order was ready for pickup..?

I also find this new statement in contradiction to earlier ones and rather confusing.

Can we have it clear and to the point in a sticky or on the RED website, and perhaps even as a mail to all who hold a reservation, so no one misses it?

I would hate to get my camera and have it non functioning, because I missed something like this.

Thanks in advance.

PS: I also would prefer the 18-50mm zoom at the time my camera delivers, rather than waiting.

I understand. We will keep you posted as more options become available.

I asked this on another earlier thread. I am still asking.

This is why I posted this information. It is not completely necessary to place an order, however to help with forecasting and to ensure everything is not shipping last minute, it would be a good idea to place accessory orders sooner rather than later. We will apply your credit when we invoice you.

Hey Kelly,
There doesn't appear to be any way to reference accessory reservations to previous camera reservations. This means however, that we are being charged ANOTHER deposit, on top of our current reservation. Is this correct?

Sounds good Kelly, I'll get on that soon....

I'm also waiting for a call to switch over my 18-85 reservation, but I understand the delay, you guys must be swamped right now.

I am a bit confused by your question. You pay a deposit of 10% on anything you order from here on out. Accessories just became available on April 16th. If i misunderstood you, please feel free to email me at kelly@red.com to clear things up.

Everyone who has the 18-85 will have a chance to switch over to the 18-50. Please bear with us as we are trying to catch up after NAB. Trust me when I say you are all our main priority.

Kelly, I believe what John meant was that he placed a camera reservation before you had to create an account thru RED.com. So when you go to create your account there is no reference to a camera order placed before the new website ordering page.

I have talked with Kelly and they are working on this. Basically when all the bugs are ironed out they will be able to look up your name and tie all orders together (so there should be no issues.) If i am wrong on this please correct me Kelly ;).

Kelly, earlier Jim has stated that reservations continue to be fully refundable, http://www.reduser.net/forum/showpost.php?p=17838&postcount=3

I will take his word before anyone elses on this matter, there have been some posts here saying something else was said at the NAB booth.
There are no conditions on your webstore (that I can find anyway).

I hope itīs still refundable, as I hope to be as flexible as possible, if YES I will gladly reserve all my accessories now, if NO I might want to wait and see whatever else pops up...

I just had to sign up on red.com as a user again. How do you reference my original deposit and order so it can all be placed under one. I would like the credit applied as well so I can actually only pay the 10% on what I am adding to my first deposit.

So, if you have a reservation you are saying it is a good idea to order accessories for forecasting purposes? OK, that's cool.
No problem with 10% down. I assume the big pieces won't change and we won't be invoiced in total until you say our cameras are ready to ship?
And if we decide to change something or order an extra RED drive for example we can lock everything before final ship?

So does that mean 10% of $17,500? If we have a res we need to pony up another $750 now if we want to order other gear?

If I paid $750 for my old zoom reservation and I switch do I need to pay another $650 now to reserve or do I get a $100 credit to my acessory order deposit?

If you change your mind, you can give me a call and I will give you your deposit back. Like I said, I am here for you all... I know you might change your mind on what you want and I will work with you to sort that out when the time comes. Bottom line, the deposits are still fully refundable.

The deposit system was different before NAB. You will not have to change that at all. However, from here on out, you will pay 10% on whatever you order.

Sweet. I will order my accessories now and email you about switching my zoom reservation.

If we decide we want some more parts after we get our cameras will we have to wait until April 2008?

I don't think the question was answered yet on how this works with our previous reservation. So I'm a little confused. Sorry to give everyone a headache.

But if you could clear this up. I understand why you're asking us to reserve our accessories now as opposed to when you guys contact us before our order ships as Jim mentioned in a previous thread, but if we create an account in the RED store, then how do you connect that with our previous camera reservation?

If you're basically saying for us to put our name in and you'll just have to figure it out, that's okay, I trust you guys, but I'm just a little curious. I'm not the man with the money in my org. so I'll have to make sure I'm 100% clear on everything.

Also, when you say "Sooner than later" are you saying you'd prefer we have our accessory reservations within the next few days or can we have a couple weeks to figure it out?

Thanks for the info, Kelly. It's much appreciated!

Hi Kelly,
I'm not until # 1245 :(
Would I be okay to wait until more information is available on the Red Grip and motors... and is there any estimate on when those individual piece will be available online?

Kelly
04-23-2007, 05:51 PM
We are reconciling the data from the previous reservation system to this new system that we now have on red.com. For all new orders you will have to make a Red account. We will connect for you.

"Sooner rather than later"... its cool if you wait, I was just getting a lot of questions on when to order so I wanted to let you know what we prefer. Order today, tomorrow or in a few months. Do what works for you. We are just trying to forecast and did not want everyone waiting until the last minute. We want to ensure we have what our customers want.

If this is still not clear... let me know. Thats what I am here for.

Are we okay to wait for the SuperGrip to show up on the store page? Or will we be able to add that to our order later when it shows up?

Hi Kelly

My camera from the tentative shipping schedule is mid august. What is the lastest I could order my accessories so that they ship with the camera and dont cause a holdup?

Reason being that as yet I havent really had good fedback over the LCD. So im not sure whether to get LCD or EVF. I'm waiting for feedback of the first units to come back. As for the recording medium, that may all change too if the CF module comes out in time for August or the new Solid State Drives. These things will affect my decsion on accessory purchase.

Also the lens mounts as the EOS adapter hasnt been announced a price or a shipping time.

thanks for the help.

Mike

I'm in the same situation as darkline.

Plan to wait for some of the first redusers to post some results before I finalise my orders and my red camera is estimated to arrive in August. I'm wondering if it's fine if we order the accessories in June/July.
