Hello everybody,

I've got a documentary road trip coming up on the next week, and I'd like to know what are the best settings to avoid those ugly flickers and dark scanning horizontal lines in different lighting situations. I'll be traveling in the USA

I am going to be in a lot of uncontrolled lighting situations. Probably many times I won't be able to do anything about the flickers.

But any help or advise on how I can confront each lighting situation (Fluorescent - computer screen) and maybe modify my Red settings for avoiding or reducing flicker artifacts.

I am planning on shooting 23.98 fps at 1/48th of a second.

So any trick, advise would be really appreciated.

Thanks,

Ivan Cortazar

Best bet would be to change your shutter to 1/60s for 60Hz power in the US, which should knock out fluoroescent flicker. Rolling bars on CRTs will be much harder as there's no real standard - other than on televisions, which will be 60Hz as well.

I'd start using 1/60s and move from there testing on different situations.

Yes...1/60s it's the best solution.... frequency problems... for that reason in america (a lot of countries) work @30f/sec 60MHz/120V.... Europe.. @25/Sec 50Mhz/ 200V..... Sync Of Frequency:excl:
