Hello
Probably a silly question as most in the industry over can afford them.
But will there be a program for freelance independant filmmakers who trade in their REDs for an EPIC where they can pay monthly for the camera to pay it slowly.. or will you only accept full payment on day 1?

As in RED Bank?
Doubt it.
You can always try to lease, that way you can write it all off as you pay.

having Red finance your camera is a whole nother department I am sure
Red does not want to get into.
Most likely you would have to find your own financing.
I am thinking of offering Red backed securities....any takers?

A similar feel to your suggestion would be the slow payment spread over let's say 10 months of 2,000 US per month starting now- that way by the time you receive your Epic it's practically paid off

It may sound like a little kid kinda thing to do but hey, its actulally the best way to go about it. Dont touch that account except to put money into it. See if your bank will allow you to do a "withdrawals locked till XX/XX/XXXX" kinda thing.

When RED Ranch is open, maybe they will allow double or nothings. When you have half enough money you can attempt to get the other half for nothing... or lose the half you have saved. The cash drawer will either be half empty or half full. Either way, problem solved!

cool idea, slow interests at the beginning, rising a year later, RED can sell the bad parts of the credits to island and german investors, the goverments can give guarantee for the investors......cool !
