I think you should mention its not to scale.. Why are you just using a 2/3 lens. You only going for HD.. Why not put some nice glass on there and shoot for the moon.

Good point. That's how pained I am by my budget - even my fantasies are restrained.

And how are you pulling the focus? I my opinion only one handle to hold it makes sense. The second hand needs to go on a follow focus.

Shooting solo like this, would you choose to pull focus directly off the lens, or off a follow focus? Which ever the case I think your left hand will need to take a bit of the weight of the rig for ballance.

It'd be cool if there were a way to rig the focus into the left-hand grip... to pull while holding like that. Might be awkward -- or might be a redvolution!
