What will happen for customers who have reserved this lens, will the deposit be transferable to the new zoom? or will we have the option to transfer to say the prime set?

The search button on the forum is a good tool. It makes finding stuff that has been talked about over and over easy to find..

Not to give you a hard time but. for your info it will be transferable if that is what you wish. and if you would wish to do that don't worry it will be taken care of in the order of the reservation you have... or just shoot kelly off an email.

Thank you, IMG. Yes, new posters, please search before posting a new thread.

The answer to your question is simple. The 18-85 is still coming, though apparently it's on a delay. You can transfer the reservation to the 18-50 or keep it on the 18-85, your choice. No word on the prime set, I'd call RED if you have questions.

Brook, I am not sure how "controllable" things are but the number of new threads being generated is really getting crazy. So much has been covered in other threads that could be resurrected.
I used to try and read all but now I will not even open a thread if it does not appear to interest me. There is just not enough hours in the day.
Anyway, I know I am the loser as I will miss informative topics but thats the way it is.
NAB was always going to unleash a flood but the dam did not hold for me.

Rest assured I will still be here and do my best to keep up. Such is the family.

After talking with the lovely Kelly today, I found out that all 18-85 zoom reservation holders will be receiving an email within the coming week asking whether or not trhey'd like to switch over to the 18-50.

Brook or anyone of the RED team, the rumor on the 18-100 or even a compact 50-100 is just a rumor or...

BTW, this sort of extenders over a zoom:

...will give me a full 18-50 --> 36-100 or not?

Just to make sure there's no misunderstanding, I'm not a part of the RED team. I'm still a yellow-named moderator. :)

As for new threads, Turnover, yeah... I understand. Trust me. I read every post here... it's time consuming. You've probably noticed I've been locking a lot of threads lately. It's not that there's anything super wrong with them... it's just that they've sailed their course.

Like this one. :)
