Is it normal to hear a faint, high-pitched audio tone when in "mic" mode? The tone is more apparent when an audio channel is enabled, but no microphone is plugged into it. I'm using an Audio Technica Wireless receiver and a Sony ECM-77B (battery powered.)

I've searched the forum but couldn't seem to find a straight answer on this. Is this why line is preferable - to avoid the slight buzz/high-pitched tone/hum? I DID check the line ins and they are all excellent.

This is resolved in the upgraded audio board.

In the meantime, using higher output level microphones or line level inputs will minimize or eliminate this as an issue.

Hi Kenn,

If you use a good quality mixer with a line output, this will resolve the issue. Using a good mixer when recording audio is always a good idea..
