Hola Polispol,
I'm in Madrid and I'll get a pair of camaras so the total number of located camaras in Spain is 8 and I'm pretty sure that the total in Spain is around 10... who has the last 2??? I think that we can build up a DB with all ours contacts for future works.
I think that looks good, we're not a couple of locos and not a saturated market. What's your opinion about it polispol?
Ciao Carlo

beatniq, you write as it sounds, but your catalonian seems to be pretty well!!
where do you come from?
Marlon, I think that in spain we will have much more of 10 cameras, for sure, every rental house will have at least 1 or 2.
Do you use to shoot HD in spain?

Like I said, I'm from Barcelona. I was born there. My parents went statewide when I was 5... I decided to tag along. I grew up speaking Catalan at home, and still speak it with my family to this day.
It's heartening to see that my heartland is keeping pace... :)

Hola
Well first of all, thank you for switching back to english, because many people like me are intersted in what's going on in Spain from abroad.
I live in France only 2 hours from San Sebastian and Pampelune.
We'll hopefully get a fully equipped Red system by this time next year.
Yours emmanuel

Hola Polispol,
I've shoot in HD in Madrid and before in Milan but I'm not a camera operator, I work as a producer and I'm studying more about workflow & sw side. I'm trying to build up a team of 2/3 people to work with my REDs, I'll search an HD techician to work with me later this year so if someone is interested contact me!
I said 10 cameras because I've ask it in Orange County and 10 was the answer. More cameras? I think could be better, if RED works really good we'll work anyway but I don't think it will be so simple to convice film people (both cimena & commercials) we'll have a lot of hard work to do next year.
Anyone from Spain going to NAB?

If I am not mistaken, Pol is an amazing HD expert. Have you heard of the spanish film "Salvador"?

We will be working in editorial on a film in Barcelona shooting from October, 2008 to January, 2009. I came across the list of facilities in another posting but was wondering if anyone has any comments or experience working with the following:
Utopic
Ovide
Service Vision
Any others in Barcelona?
We have worked with Plaster City in Hollywood, CA for our previous films.
Our process was to deliver the red files to Plaster city where they would do a real time output to HDCAM 1080p, 23.976 for us through Scratch. They also provided us with an ALE to digitize these tapes into the avid. Additionally we had LTO3 backups made of the original files. Has anyone used a similar workflow for shooting and cutting on Avids in Barcelona?

Pol is an amazing cinematographer. I had the privilege of working with Pol last October along with Jendra Jarnagin, Mike Curtis and several people from Utopic and Service Vision. You couldn't ask to meet a better person than Pol or work with such a fine crew.
Beside that I am absolutely smitten with Culture and cuisine I experienced in Barcelona and Sitges. I will need to return one day.

Those companies (except Utopic) are rental houses, not post houses.
Utopic is a services company based on final cut pro, you can contact them (http://www.utopic.tv) to see if they can fulfill your needs. If not, a bigger company that is working with postproduction with red one is apuntolapospo (http://lapospo.com/en/home/). They are a big post house.
Thanks to all of you talking so nice about me.... but now... I'm working on the dark side... shooting a movie with an arri d21!
So anyone from this forum coming to barcelona, send me a msg and we can have a beer and some tapas!
