I know CS4 is coming but if I need to do a feature film edit, (the director wants to use CS3 at this point), would it work to use REDRUSH to create offline clips and edit with CS3, then save the EDL and conform somehow (monkey extract?) and work on telecine with REDCINE?

I have been using my proxies in CS3 (if that is any help to you...)

just for cutting of course, not for final renders

Hello raulgonzo,

Wondering if EDL can be exported to REDCINE someways.
Are you just using it as offline for now and manually assembling in REDCINE according to what you have edited offline?

I tried outputting EDL and trying to use Monkey Extract but it crashes upon rendering.

Hi Kaku, I simply edit my proxies in Premiere and then coordinate the In and Out Points of each clip in RedCine, export however. (I like DPX- then off to AE)

raulgonzo,

Ah, so you're doing it manually. I just got a replay from Rubber Monkey that Monkey Extract works with Premiere Pro EDL, so I'm going to work it out with them on my crashing.

Yes, just until the adobe plug-in comes along. Good luck with everything! PM me if you need anything
