Try a little search...you'll find a few people have had the same problem and come up with a solution (hope it works for you):

Yes, this definitely works. Brent thinks it's an issue with the cable, not talking to the charger properly. The voodoo trick with the battery somehow fools the charger into working.

I'm having exactly the same problem.
Is this likely to be fixed? I see that it has been a problem since at least March.
Thanks for the workaround, but it's not a long-term solution.

Gabriele-
We had the same problem. Try attaching 2 batteries simultaneously to the charger, then turn on your camera. This is what works for us and once the camera's powered up, you can safely remove the batteries and the camera should stay on.

Thanks!
I think i found my solution:
Connect the Camera to the Charger (both turned off) ,turn on the charger , press 1 time the start button on the camera , remove the cable from the camera , wait a few seconds , the AV light on the charger will turn on , connect the Camera again, Turn On the Cameras.
This works for me (and without attach battery...)
