I am looking for anyone who knows what would be needed to use the Red One camera with Motion Control. I know there is the Mirus but is that even available yet? I would need to rent this in the NY area at the end of the week. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hello s816mm35mm (what about 70mm? :))
i am not sure what kind of answer you need, but if i understand your question correctly - here is a kind of answer, but with more questions:
it depends on what rig you want to work. send bit more info, about it - the rig you want to use, and about "type" of shooting - is this real time shooting, stop motion; different time scales, different frame speeds, mixed shooting in different passes, different model/set scales etc.
do you need exact time code to match or just need any trigger to sync with in post?
do you need audio also?
if you prefer - you can send me p.m. will try to answer that.

They want to shoot on the Red. I do not yet know the answers to the above questions yet but will let you know as soon as I get them.
And 70mm? would make it too long :)
what about 4k????

The shot will consist of 3 bales of hay and on each is a product. they want to capture the product from different angles and want to be able to start at the exact same point each time otherwise they will be guessing and will never line up in editing. No sound. probably no timecode either.

I just saw it done on the feature leaves of grass. Its being shot in louisiana you can contact the production office and they would give you the info for the rigs they used and who they got them from.

a little ot but.... we shot some great motion control using a kuper-controlled genuflex II. A friend of mine wrote a script enabling the move to be previsualised inside of maya, a little ot - but we were able to accurately pre-vis a 1 minute 45 second moco move really accurately... just need to set the maya camera up to match the red sensor size. script is here if any VFX-heads wanna look.
a tool i'd reccommend for intricate work.
