this are things which all the AC`s i came along did mention over time they are thinking would be useful.

they wish, epic has:

1. somekind of Arri Pin on the Bottom of the body....the support bracket for optimos is sometimes off....the baseplate has to manually be rearranged sometimes.
2. 1st booting time.....jim stated already the 2 seconds.
2.1. Hot swap ability
3. hold button like on mp3 players...just safe when using epic in handheld mode.
4. locking system for the power button
5. record button on the right side of the body
6. integrated SD out...they wished it because of wireless monitoring options for the director...there is few hd wireless stuff
7. FROM THE SOUND DEPARTMENT.....they were really happy and surprised by reds silent Fan modus while recording, but the Fan is annoying when they check the sound right before the action.....they wish the cameras fan would be always really almost soundless like in silent mode.
----------for dops its annoying too when the fan is loud between takes......sound enigers i worked with never allow to use a different fan mode because the sound is out of tolerance for them........but on the other side..........sound guys are always crying...hehe
8. Different WING NUTS for the TOP MOUNT....it can get annoying while using it in handheld mode. the top mount parts should be machined including the wing nuts).
9. different monitoring options for the evf/LCD/external Monitor
10. instead of the joystick something different...-like on dslr cameras....it will be like that asfaik.
11. SSD Drives....-red ram is on its way

1. done-new cheeseplate will do it
2. done
3. done-i thought of batteries, now its batteries and cf cards
4.hold button----WHAT ABOUT THIS? DID IT HAPPENED?
5.done- even better, with redmote start the camera in your pocket if you want
6. WOULD BE COOL, but its not usefull in a couple of years, so understandable not to build one, but redbyte is here now if you want
7. WHAT ABOUT THIS? THERE ARE SOME ULTRA LOW NOISE FANS OUT THERE
8.WHAT ABOUT THIS, DONT HAVE INFOS ON THE WINGNUTS, I MEAN, HOW THE RODS ARE MOUNTED TO THE TOPMOUNTS.
9. done
10.done with redmote
11.done- ssd drives are coming amd 64 GB Cf cards are reality

PLUS: epic seem to have a much better cable management system

Q: WHAT ABOUT FUSES? DOES EPIC HAVE FUSES BUILD IN?
WILL IT be POSSIBLE TO CHANGE THE SCREWS (lil add on price). STAINLESS STELL RULES AND SAVES AGAINST RUST.

thanks for listening RED.

Booting time will be a bit more than 2 seconds, due to the complexities of the design. Current target is 15-10 seconds, with the pre-production models clocking in at 12 seconds.

Boot time at NAB was about 12-13 seconds. Jim said they were hoping to get it down closer to 10. But hey - 13 seconds is pretty damn good. And with hot swappable batts, you really don't have an excuse for powering down unless you want to.
