Red 3755 has arrived! Still missing the drivecable and my order for a CF card did'nt come through, but I can play around and find out...
Everything I see on my monitor looks great!
I must say that Fedex in Eindhoven were very friendly and gave good service.
So thanks everybody at Red and the Redusers forum on which I a got lot of information. Special thanks to Steve Sherick for answering lots of questions and having sense of humor.

Congrats!
Run out and buy some Lexar 300 CF's so you can start having some real fun with it, while you wait.
Interesting to see that the new cams are still delivered with the "old" PL lock...
Cheers!

Hi,
The 8 gig ones are identical to Red ones, except for the sticker that says RED.

Still missing the drivecable and my order for a CF card did'nt come through,
My drive cable came through about a week later so you shouldn't have long to wait hopefully. I got my camera delivered on the 10th October and the drive cable was with me on the 18th. Congrats.
Andrew.

I can live with the situation although we have beautiful autumn days... Wish I could make some shots.... Maybe I will have a couple of CF cards tomorrow.

i had 30 different red cf cards and 30 different lexar cards in the last 8 months,
zero problems with the red branded ones..... a couple of the regular lexar couldnt handle the redfooty or the cam had problems to format that card.
....but mybe its just a psychological thing :)

Kaya I hope it is psychological.... I found very cheap Lexar CF cards, and of course I'd love to test things out.

Congrats Johan, you will have a blast.
I just got some new ET gear and my Red feels brand new all over again. It's hard NOT to be enthusiastic...

Johan, congrats. Great shot of the camera setup.
I just shot with 2 Red CF cards and 3 Lexar 300x Professional UDMA cards with zero problems. Even did some 4K, 2:1, RC 36. Pick up one of those while you wait. They can be had for reasonable money now and will hold you over until the drive arrives.
And I enjoyed our correspondence about the Red. I'm always willing to help out where I can, and people have always been helpful to me. It's a great community. Even with the occasional insanity that takes place :-)

I received my CF cards today, had little time, but here is the first picture shot. The Lexar cards were not a problem until now.

Just want to make sure I understand that last sentence. Do you mean they were not a problem at first but now they are? You might just be saying they haven't been a problem with the tests you have done to this point. It's the "until now" that I'm wondering about. Want to see if we can help if you have experienced any problems.

I had just a few minutes time today to test, so I tried 2 of the four CF cards which both worked fine. I don't expect problems with the other two but somewehere in the back of my mind I know a problem might occur. So I meant to say that everything is fine but if a problem would occur I would not be surprised also.
Pffff... English is difficult at times. I didn't realise my statement could lead to confusion.

Okay, cool. Seems like you're okay. I just shot with three of them with zero problems. So, hopefully you'll have no problems as well. I suppose any of this stuff can potentially have problems, but at least we know that the Lexars perform well unless you get a bad one.
You must be having a blast shooting with the new camera. Look forward to seeing more footage from you.

It's fun! I expected the DOF character as I allready experimented with a Letus 35 adaptor. But the colors and the light..... lovely!
I'm busy with my work now, but I would like to go out, follow a little river in my neighbourhood. The autumn is beautifull now.

Hi Johan,
gefeliciteerd!.
I see you don't have top rods (yet)?
While I am waiting I use 0,50 cent PVC tube as mini rods to support the Cradle. It can hold it with ease :-)

Geweldig idee! (Great idea)..... At the plumber they also might have some stronger material like copper. Thanks for having a good look at my equipment.
Why make it difficult when it can be done easily? (waarom moeilijk doen etc.....)

You can even make them stronger by use a piece with a smaller diameter and glue it inside. Really great for top-rails...
