Michael,
I recorded sound and picture in my Red One at 4k 2:1 @ 24fps and would like to do the offline edit in Avid. Would like to know in what project settings I need to work in Avid with perfect sound sync without Time Code issues. Tried opening in 24p project and when i import directly the QT Proxies its in perfect sync and when I Batch import using ALE created from Meta cheater with Pal project settings, its out of Sync.
Expecting speedy reply from you.

Whether you are working in SD or HD, the project type needs to be 24p. So you will either be:
PAL 24p Method 2
1080p/24

When I create the project in PAL 24p and import ALE created using Metacheater ( Settings PAL), The sound play back in Avid after batch import is in Non-sync.
Where as create project in 1080p24 amd import ALE created using Metacheater (Settings 1080), The sound perfectly syncs in Avid.
Thoughts...

Is the audio to fast or to slow?

The clips you are importing are VA correct? That could be the issue. I need to investigate a bit. SD projects assume the following in PAL:
Method 1: Picture and sound are from 25fps sources and are in sync. Captured as both VA and then both picture and sound are slowed down to 24fps to remain in sync. There is a pitch change here, but the assumption is that the audio is scratch and for reference only.
Method 2; Double system sound. Picture only is captured via 25fps source and played back at 24fps. Sound is imported separately with no speed change to be in sync with 24fps. AutoSync is then used to make a new sync VA clip.
I am thinking this is a new "method 3" and Avid seeing the VA clip assumed method 1 and will slow it down. Try the following - import the SD transcoded clip into a 1080p/24 then switch the project to PAL 24p. That should keep it all in sync. Just use the 1080p/24 for the import.

I already converted the clip to 576p SD as self contained movie and when I try to import that into 1080p, the image quality will be poor. Would like to know, whether to create ALE for 1080p in Metacheater, Create 1080p project in Avid and import the ALE and then switch the project to 24p Pal and then batch import. Will it work. By this method I wont loose the quality.
Unable to create ALE in RedRushes for projects except 1080p.

method 3 works.
Create ale using 1080p project. Create 1080p24 avid project. Import ale. Change the project settings to 24p SD and then import VA media. It's in perfect sync.
Avid needs to provide a solution for this workaround. Not every dick can do this.
Thanks michael.
