The recent discussion on adding fake anamorphic lens flares in post coincided with me just now running into this old Onion article:

Brilliant,:)

By the way. There has been much speculation going on about the use of anamorphic lenses.

My humble guess would be to go ARRI Scope. Shoot 1:2,35 ratio in camera and print to film. Whether resolution is an issue - no idea.

Only ever equipped 1 movie with Hawks. They would certainly be affordable for an "Indie" style production.

Since that is out of question my question would be:
RED aims at the big screen. Is there a solution for the "most loved" format of all? Or are we trying to reinvent something here to make things complicated?

Regards
Volker
