Does anyone know if you will be able to record directly to a MAC/Server as well as to the RED drives? I assume this would be a obvious feature to include.

As long as your "drive" is SATA compatible, in theory yes. But there is often a considerable difference between what is possible in theory and in practice. Such a configuration has not been tested.

We like the idea of recording direct to a RAID in a studio and editing on the fly.. so do the clients. Though it aint too hard to just swap RED drives either I guess.

What is the conduit out of the camera to the Mac?
Ofcourse you can capture Dual Link HD-SDI or HD-SDI directly on your mac but how could you record Redcode Raw directly to your mac?
Final Cut certainly isnt going to be recording a live redcode raw feed... ?
It would be great to have a way to record redcode raw directly to a computer though.

Actually, I think what Stuart was saying is "No, you can't record directly to your computer" What you were asking, I think, was is there a way to connect the camera, say by USB or firewire, to your computer and record directly to through your computer to its hard drive, using Redcode, and I think the answer to that is no you can only record directly to attached drives.
You can, however, attach a SATA drive directly to the camera but that doesn't mean you can connect your camera to the SATA port of your computer--you can only connect to a SATA compatible hard drive or raid array.
