OK so the score is that I have a friend who is a member of one of the U.K's biggest indie Techno groups. They have had singles in the past signed to Warner Music and have a huge following not just in the U.K but also Europe wide.
A while back I made a short clip, a fusion of techno music mixed with underwater imagery to come up with a product I labeled 'TechnOcean'. I posted that to the guys in the band and they liked the concept. Now me not being an editor per se, I shoot underwater and am pretty much a one man band when it comes to making small time DVD compilation products for sale within the recreational dive industry. I've had a few short films make finalist status in some of the bigger festivals but still I feel I am not 'quite there' yet.
Anyway, long story short is that the group are looking to release a new single aptly named 'Oceanic' (it also happens that two of the group are also divers and a lot of their work is tied with strong affinity to the Ocean) and they have asked me to look at potentially making a music video along the lines of my previous attempt albeit on a larger scale. A full blown official music video.
At this point in time I am looking to find someone who would, like me, be willing to put a bit of time into this on the editing side of things. Preferably someone with some music video editing prowess. I'm looking to supply all the footage and want to come up with something that if acceptable will be adopted as a projection piece for the track release. In the beginning this is being treated as a non commercial undertaking but will transform to a commercial deal if the band decide to adopt the final product.
If any, possible UK based, music editors with a penchant for the fast cut editing techniques used to accompany techno music related video's would be interested in getting involved please PM me for more info.
This is in the very infant stages at the moment and I would like to get feedback from others before going on with it.
Cheers,
Mark.
