Hi all,

Had problems with one of our RED's on site last night. Took long time to format drives and was rebooting itself whenever it felt like it. But the main problem was that it shot images like this with major weird ghosting effect almost like a slow shutter. Luckily we have two cameras on set and quickly rigged the second on the technocrane and it was fine.
Settings:
Build 16
ISO 320
25fps
180 shutter
Nothing out of the normal.

Any advice would be great as it's a weekend at RED and we are working through it. By the way, have reset camera and rebooted etc, goes without saying.

Brig.

Hi Brignham,

I have a similar issue with build 16. My camera was rigged on a jimmy jib the camera assist plugged the remote start into GPIO B which was set up for timelapse single frame triggering. Even though timelapse was not enabled in the menu the camera went into timelapse mode. I solved my issue by plugging the remote into GPIO A and going into the menu and turning timelapse off again.
So check your GPIO settings on your camera and you may have it solved.
Hope this helps!
Cheers, Tim.

Could you post a higher res image? I think I just saw this yesterday on a Camera shooting in the desert. Build 16 23.98fps,

Wasn't using the GPI on the back, the Preston was connected through the 232 port on the side below the EVF and monitor connectors. The only other thing we noticed was that the file size (R3D) was quite small. Only around 350mb for an almost one minute shot.

I have posted a slightly larger shot to have a look at. Freaky.
