View Full Version : Tell me I'm wrong

The following words are rantings and raving of a fed up voter:

I'm not sure either candidate's economic policies will help out. Both seem to want to grow government, both seem to think that more programs and more money will fix things. In those debates, they talked about taxes & who will bear the burden of paying them, but the one thing I heard nothing about from either of their mouths was the fact that both their plans would call for more money from the tax payers (either the middle class or the rich depending on candidate) and how that's NOT what we need.

I don't care who pays, or how it's structured in some 500 page revision to the tax code, the problem is that SOMEONE has to pay for all this crap. Both these morons can't see the real problem. I'm sick of it.

We're burning through billions paying for a war. History has clearly shown that protracted wars always hurt countries economically. Somehow people are missing this fact.

We're spending billions on war because we're oil junkies and neither candidate seems to have a good grasp on the real problem; our dependence on oil & the fact that we get our oil from a people who are opposed to our way of life infecting their society. If they don't want us, they don't get us... or our money and all is well.

I know this is pie in the sky, but if we spend a trillion dollars on the war when it's all said and done and we're still involved in an area that doesn't want us or like us and we're still giving them all our money (for their oil) what's the point? What have we gained? For god's sake, just take the places over, make them republic of ours and call it a day. At least then we can just take the oil and come out ahead economically.

If you're not going to do this, then how about spending that trillion dollars on research and funding of alternate energy sources, or building nuke plants, or making a oil free vehicle that will actually make sense for consumers. A trillion dollars would go a LONG way to making some of these things a reality much quicker than the pace at which they're currently crawling along.

Both these guys are campaigning as agents of change. Real change starts with getting people in office who have a pair & aren't afraid to, I don't know, try something different if the current course of action isn't working.

Sorry, I know you asked to be told you are wrong, but in my opinion there is no right or wrong in what you say. There is simply what is and how we as individuals deal with what is will ultimately decide what is to be.

No president is going to lead us out of where we are. Mass psychology is much better at succeeding at that. Your implication that we have been a self-indulgent world and now it is time to get back to what is true is becoming the predominate way of thinking, and this is what will lead us out of the canyon onto the plateau (hope you like plateaus). I remember learning that we had become a trillion dollar economy and soon after, a multi-trillion dollar economy. I wondered to myself... what changed so suddenly that we have groun so much so fast?

Finally, I realized we are selling tulip bulbs. Like they did in Holland a long time ago, they were selling ordinary tulip bulbs for outrageous prices simply because there was a perceived value above the true value. Now we are beginning to realize the true value of stuff.

Or maybe it's something else.

Ethan Cooper,

Your Wrong! Just kidding!!!! I am frustrated also. I think you are right. The question is Why? The answer Greed/Corruption!!! Its not even about taking oil out and using it. They just want to control the ability of prospect of oil for Wall Street Markets. Perception not Produce. Fear and Greed drives the markets. Same thing with U.S. dollars that are not even made by the U.S. and backed by any limited natural resources. We the people give these other people(bad corporations/banks/governments) control by Trusting without any repercussions, so they can do whatever they want!

I am voting for Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party. He is backed by Ron Paul! If anyone that doesn't like the two parties or their candidates than vote for a Third Party Candidate, its better than not voting at all. :red_bandana:

Sometimes we (incliuding myself in there) probably need erasing. Like the things one does when one is drunk. It may not just be the alcohol that is erasing the memory, but a protection mechanism to keep one from chewing off one's arm so as to not wake up the sleeping (ugh) beauty lying next to you when you wake up the morning after.

Ugly Betty... if you read this and that was you I left my severed arm under, no offense.

Your right, this thread is going to be erased. So I'm gunna say this quickly! :)

I'm obviously biased, but Obama addresses what your talking about. Raising taxes and getting us out of Iraq. Sounds good to me.

I like the Libertarians and the Constitutionalists, but along with say, dismantling the IRS and getting rid of income tax, Ron Paul would also toss the CIA, Department of Education, Social Security, etc. I do understand the argument, but I'm pretty much a Socialist and like my public services, wish we had had more and better :) Regardless though, I wish the Libertarians/Constitutionalists were a more significant voice in our government. Ron Paul's cool.

The political discussions have been getting a bit out of hand here lately...

And since I'm closing this thread, I'll refrain from any further commentary.
