Hi,

not red-related but urgent - please help:

we realized a documentary which will be presented today at LEIPZIG documentary festival. the film was shoot on Panny HDX 900 (interlaced), and finished on HDCAM SR (still 1080i). We have a HDCAM festival copy, which will be played back at the festival in a few hours with a SONY J-H1 or H3 HDCAM deck (the small ones) and screened with a JVC DLA-HD1 Beamer.

the picture is kind of strobing / shuttering especially during camera pans.

is there a special setting in the SONY DECK and / or the JVC Beamer?
do we have to tell the jvc beamer that the program is interlaced?

thanks in advance- kind regards,
martin

The JVC is de-interlacing the 1080i to 1080p. Hence in P your pans may strobe/judder.

Is the deck showing 1080i? 50 or 60 hz?
Are you going in Component?

thanks again.

framerate: 50i

at the moment, we are going in HDMI, but there is the possibility to switch to component.

kind regards,
martin

Try component.. not sure about hdmi.

50i? don't you mean 1080/25i ?

Hi flameop,

thanks again for your help.

almost ashamed to say - a simple restart did the job. audio was a little out of sync, because they used the analog audio out, but anyway ... better then shutter problems... and most of the audience didn't notice the delay.

kind regards,
martin
