Hi Sven,

I have worked with Mistika from the beginning and work in a post production company that has two Mistika’s, two Smokes and two Quantel eQ’s

In short, the Mistika’s are the fastest and most flexible of all of the above. Colour grading is particularly powerful, not needing any rendering for most practical resolutions.

We were the first Soho (London) post company to complete a project with the RED camera just over a year ago. That project was conformed, graded and had visual effects added in Mistika.

It’s a very open system and because the programmers have been making use of the GPU for a number of years, it’s very fast. One journalist wrote that it’s performance was so high it felt like you needed to wear a seatbelt to operate it! Latest additions at IBC 08 included stereoscopic tools.

I would certainly recommend it. It's a strong product with very strong support.

What is the price range for this system?

Thanks.

I visited the Mistika guys at SGO in Madrid a while back.

Very interesting system with the one the best background render implementations I have seen.

They are the same core of people that designed Jaelo on the SGI boxes.

The SGO sounds cool. Try and see a demo in North America, almost impossible. When are they going to have systems operating in LA or NYC or San Francisco or Seattle??

Seems like it could work as a system in Europe or the UK, not in North America.

I remember the Jaleo very well, it was a well thought out very solid product. kudos to these guys for keeping that mindset and solid workflow alive.

Hello gentlemen,

SGO is glad to announce that SGO Mistika now supports native R3D!

Thanks to the agreement achieved with the camera manufacturer Red Digital Cinema for this development, SGO is glad to announce that its software, SGO Mistika, now supports natively R3D format from Red. That is to say, SGO Mistika now supports Red format without any type of conversion required.

If you need any info, please contact me; tvelleca@sgo.es

Best regards to all
