Por Que 4K? Join DCS to Explore 4K at DV EXPO on Wednesday November 5th at 5:30pm.
The Digital Cinema Society has organized an event to be held as part of DV Expo this week at the Los Angeles Convention Center. I will lead a panel looking at 4K for Production, Post, and Exhibition.
Confirmed panelists include RED’s Ted Schilowitz, Dalsa’s Rob Hummel, Sony’s Adrew Stucker, and from Foto Kem, Andrew Oran, a Large Format Specialist, and Mike Brodersen who has been highly involved in the lab's 4K Digital efforts.
We will explore the advantages, as well as the challenges of working in 4K and project some beautiful imagery acquired via RED, Dalsa, and on 65mm film, (which I still consider to be the gold standard of high resolution acquisition). Selections include the latest RED demo reel, (shown previously in 4K only at IBC and ShowEast), DALSA anamorphic, as well as the stunning “Mystic India” and “Baraka”, both shot in 65mm.
There is no charge for this event with a FREE DV Expo Exhibit Hall Pass; so come early, tour the expo, then see for yourself 4K imagery projected with the Sony SXRD, and hang out afterwards for the LA Final Cut User Group event that immediately follows our meeting. Use discount code DCS08 when you register at http://www.dvexpo.com. This code is good through the day of show.
I look forward to seeing many RED Users there.
