Letīs speculate!

We will know more next thursday, what do you say, how soon do you think it will be ready.

Having been around since the first annoncements of RED ONE, my experience tells me the first 25 units will ship december 2009...

Meh,

I think Jim Jannard has a much more established manufacturing pipeline now. And he's gearing up to do much higher volume production with Scarlet as well... which maybe gives him more bargaining power with suppliers. As backorder demand for Red One is finally satisfied... Epics could start coming off the same lines.

Admittedly I know zero about these things. I just think it's not going to be anything like the production of Red One. And I think the firmware will advance much faster as well. I see Epic on a high profile set and in the hands of the silver tongued lizard by NAB if not much sooner.

After some fixes in RED hardware and software/workflow that stands like this:

You cannot run 5K files with faster data rate on the workflow that offered by RED to the industry today.

Also Scratch lost opportunity to get wider accepted because they didn't want to become

a laptop 4K conform software for everybody with a price about 1.000 USD per license.

Do the math.

End of 2009 or early 2010.

Let me calculate: 13 November 2008, add 9-month incubation gives 13 July 2009
