i have come across this lens on occasion, at better prices than the Cooke, what is the word on them, and how do they compare to the Cooke 18-100?

I will go for the Angenieux, it's more update than Cooke 18-100mm,
wide enough although it's quite heavy, but great optical lens,
very works and popular in Hong Kong for Feature Film shooting.

The 17-102mm is a nice lens. It is quite heavy and the front housing/element is fairly large.
I don't recall having seen one of these lenses here in our shop lately (good sign, few repairs).

It's very heavy but nice glass. It does a little exposure ramping on the long end and vignettes in SuperTV. I would think it covers 4K 16:9 bt can't say for sure.
