The JL Cooper and Tangent controlers both worked with Final Touch, so I see no reason they wouldn't work with Color.

In fact they are mentioned by name on the Apple Color web page (http://www.apple.com/uk/finalcutstudio/color/)

That's a new JL Cooper control surface called the Eclipse. Can't believe I missed that at NAB.

Approx $7000, shipping at the end of June. The Spectrum was/is a great product so I expect this thing will rock the house.

Once you try to grade something with a lot of shots, you will realize you NEED it. It makes ccing footage like a billion times faster.

Another product that could greatly benefit from economy of scale. $7000 for a couple trackballs that only cost $50 if you buy it in a mouse, and a few other hardware buttons. It is purely an input device and correct me if im wrong but none of the controls are even motorized as they often are on digital mixers.

Ive used the old JL control surfaces in final touch and while they take some getting used it, they are very nice. That being said, it is yet another product that could be sold much more economically if it were sold to the masses.

If JL would have come out with a version that was branded for Color and got it in the apple stores for $1000 they would sell thousands.

EDIT: On second thought, I think the price could really be brought into the low hundreds.

Ditto. I think Logitech should get into this business. With 800,000 FCP users they could move some units especially if the cost came down to $350 for 3 trackballs and a handful of programmable buttons.

The JL Cooper Spectrum can be had for around $3k, I think.
And the I found the Tangent CP200 BK for $5k at an ebay store.

Still trying to decide between them.

Pretty good price in £ considering... Though I agree.. and suspect..someone like logitech will bring out a consumer control surface.. though I suspect also it will be about £500...

Agree, let's hope enough people get interested in using Color that a mass market control surface is warranted.

I have to admit I was a little surprised when I found out the pricing. I was hoping for something more like 3k.

I think they would have to make a surface specifically for Color. Many of the buttons on the JL cooper aren't used in Final Touch, and if they are, they aren't used much.

If it was geared as a Color/Final Cut control surface it could do some damage.
