Tristan Daniel Obrien Nelson, weighing 8lbs 13oz. Awesome birthday eh? "Remember, remember the fifth of November..." :-)

To celebrate his birth I smoked a Perdomo Estate Seleccion Vintage 1991 Maestro, it was...delicioso!

Congratulations Tristan on hiring your new help. I'm sure you'll train this ole geezer "Shawn" to be a decent 2nd AC. If he works hard enough you might let him play around on your gear every once in a while (just a few minutes after he's spent hours cleaning it). Just make sure he knows who's in charge, -- these old guys can have real attitude problems.

It reminds me of 27 years ago when my Director & DP showed up and started training me. Now he's directing, etc... and I'm still assisting! :huh:


I guess that's OK because he has two new bosses now. An Actress and a Director. What goes around, come around!

Thanks Tom! Being a dad is a breathtaking experience. There's something so deeply primally satsifying about producing a son :-). Ironically, it has made me so much more productive in my growth in filmmaking, both in artistic inspiration and in motivating me to work hard. I'm still a software developer by day and I want to work hard to become a Director...I want my sons to know their old man made it. He makes me that much more driven.

Go for the third fast... I got three, 5y boy, 4y girl, 2.5y boy... they play all the time and they are very happy... of coarse its getting crazy sometimes but the happiness is much much bigger...

Don't thing about it just do it, don't try to find logic on it, you will understand in five years... but you must do it before he gets 2 years old...

In this way it wont be me and you (your first son and your second son) if you do a third then its, us...
