Sorry for the delay but I'm just out from the rainest shooting week (and week end) of my life straight back from the states...

At NAB I've got an intresting discussion with Jason Kemmerer developer of Gefen regarding their Wireless HDMI (http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=4318). It looks too big to be mounted on camera but the signal was very stable (he disconect it in my face to show that was real wireless) and the sender very lightweight.
The pic in their website is not the unit I saw working at NAB, in LV was a plastic thiner one.

I ask him about the form factor and he said that was big because the 2 sender's antennas have to have that distance between them to work.

I show him the RED brochure and he said that it will be possible to reduce the box size as little as a microphone reciever and mount the antennas on the top of the camera cage.

He's a very smart and may be they colud be a good third party supplier but I think we've to put a bit of pressure on Geffen, they have to see our market to supply us!

He said that their next product will be a 720p recorder with a 160GB Hard disk (I-tv form factor)... so HD tapeless dailes ready at the end of the shooting are here!!??

Is anyone thinking to record the 720p output for straight dailies or am I wrong?

Hell, I'd put that transmitter in a backpack, run a cable up to a steadicam sled build a 5V battery and watch HD back at video village! Coool!
