Just putting my final package together but not quite sure on which glass to order without a real test situation. I thought for the time being I could order the B4 adaptor and make a final decision on which 4K lens system to adopt when the camera arrives. I own two HI DEF (HJ21 & HJ11) canon zooms and want to know if I will have full functionality when the 12 pin canon connector is plugged into the RED. Also I'm assuming that there will be some Stop loss with the optical adaptor. I know that I won't be able to shoot full res with these lenses but I think it would be suitable for the documentary work that I'm involved with at present. If anyone has any info at all it would be greatfully accepted.

Unless Red change their intentions the lens connector on RedOne just supplies power to the lens no other interfacing. Basically anything that the lens handles itself will function but anything that requires feedback or control from the camera will not. So you will have your zoom servo, but no auto iris and now iris info in the viewfinder. You can still control the iris manually of course, so that is possibly not too much of a hardship.

Hi
Anyone used an HJ11 yet on the Red? Seems like a good lens to use, especially for most tele and docs.

The original design with the 12 pin Hirose has been changed to a 10 Pin LEMO for durability. I'm making a few adaptor cables HRS - LEMO which will supply 12v to the zoom motor and allow Rec S/S. and last clip playback. Only features you will be able to use with those lenses.
Send PM for details.
