Help desperately needed!!
I am working with Jon Schellenger (statusfilms) and need to render a ton of clips using Red Alert.
Is there any way to set and save in & out points on multiple clips and do a batch render or do i have to render each clip individually??
Thanks All

R3D Data Manager will render in and out points if you have them saved in RSX files. And it will do a batch render. So you could:
- open up r3d files in red alert and set in/out points
- select your r3d files with R3D Data Manager
- select the option to use RSX files found in RDC folders and to use in.out points
- render all

If you have an Intel Mac with OS X 10.5, have a look at Clipfinder (link in my signature).
It will make it much easier to prepare your clips in REDAlert and it does batch renders.
You can always call up help by pressing CMD-?
Good luck

Thanks Hans,,,, i tried using clip finder and i only get black in the monitor screen. My partner jon is using it fine (we both have the same octo system). Is there a setting i'm missing that will display the video???
Thanks for your help.

When you say "the same octo system" do you mean
a) you share one system
b) you have the same configuration, but 2 different machines
If a) then there may be a problem if you are not registered as an admin on the system.
I am assuming you have installed the latest version of REDAlert AND the RED Quicktime codec.
Let me know if this doesn't solve your problems.
Cheers,
Hans

AFAIK, there is nothing you can do to clipfinder to make it work. If the proxies and R3D files work on your computer they should work in clipfinder. Hans is the only one who can confirm this (as he is the master behind the best piece of free software for red on the planet) but make sure the footage works outside of clipfinder. Then you should be fine, I use clipfinder on 5 different types of macs and it always works. All I do is install the latest version of redalert and quicktime plugin and you should be fine.....
good luck

It turned out to be a missing RED QuickTime codec. Works fine now, I'm told.
