I'm trying to think of how to recreate the sound of a girl crashing through a wall. Any ideas anyone?

Set up microphones in the vicinity of Amy Winehouse... shouldn't have to wait long.

Lmao! Dammit! I though it was a real idea.
If only I could get ahold of Amy Whinehouse.

Actually tried to think of something more useful before posting that but can't recall actually hearing that sound. I would suggest finding a movie with the scene in it you are trying to foley and grab the sound off that... but that's probably illegal so whatever you do.... DON'T DO THAT!:angry2:

Haha! Of course I would never do that. Why would anyone steal anything illegal from other movies. *shifty eyes*

you need three things.
Cement cinder blocks.
Wet board (it is used by remodelers who do kitchens and bathrooms,
A large bowling ball.
You use the cinder blocks to elevate the wet board off the floor.
Put you mic through one of the holes in the cinder blocks. Make sure you have somthing like a furniture pad to muffle the sound of the bowling ball as it hits the floor. Then get a latter go to the top and throw in throgh the wet board.
It will sound cool, adr the girls sounds of pain, mix the two.

Thanks Martin, but all the credit is Amy's. What with Britney and Linds... well, maybe not Lindsey, straightening up and Paris becoming remembered as a camera prototype and a city, we are lucky to have her.
God Save Amy!....from rehab:)

Break up a panel of one inch styrofoam into large pieces, shake it up in a large cardboard box (refrigerator, dishwasher). Lower the pitch and speed, add some reverb.

What do you have in mind when you say girl?
Will she be screaming? Anything indicating that it is a girl? Otherwise I don't see why the sound you're looking for isn't just "something" crashing through a wall.
You should check out the hundreds of stock audio libraries online, there are thousands of royalty-free sound fx, unless you have a decent mic, AD converter and experience with audio post production, I suggest you buy the sounds and mix them in pro tools, or your NLE, even.
I have a project studio and I can tell you from experience that recording is such a hassle and only recommended when you need something unique.
Just my two cents :detective2:

I would first analyze what sounds the audience is expecting to hear:
1-Body against hard surface
2-Wall material (gypsum board? Concrete block?) breaking
3-Wall material hitting floor surface (wood, carpet, concrete?)
4-Body hitting floor and broken material
If you could tell me the wall and floor surface I could make some suggestions.
Also, this is technically not Foley, as Foley generally is defined as sound 'performed' live to the clip. This is a sound effect.
