Is there a reason why Red wouldn't make a S35 version of its Monstro Sensor ?
I have a feeling that a lot of people will buy a FF35 Epic/Scarlet only because they want a Monstro sensor instead of a Mysterium X, but will always use it with PL lenses (always cropping to the S35 5K area).
So, Red, what about a S35 Monstro Epic version ?

I was thinking about this today. There is only a $7000 difference between the S35 and FF35.
I am guessing that if they built a S35mm Monstro, it would close that gap and be closer in price to the FF35 or maybe even the same price.
So, may as well just skip that and offer the FF35. It shoots super 35mm with your pl mount lenses, plus if you have an anamorphic show, you can rent the lenses to do that. It just seems more flexible.
And it simplifies things for them by not having to offer too many different brains.

Did nobody notice that the FF35 Epic is coming *later*?
More than likely, the Mysterium X generation sensors can't be produced at FF35 size, and the Monstro generation will come a little later. It also might take a while for the Monstro generation to reach the yields needed to produce all versions at once.
