Just wanted to say thanks for the putting in the detachable remote option!!!

I am so excited to see it make it in the specs! Not sure if I had any influence, but it's still cool to feel like part of the process.

How great would it be if the back panel controls were indeed removable... but better yet, when removed, it becomes a Wi-Fi device when separated from the camera, running on rechargeable batteries, like an iPod type device.

I can dream, can't I? (REDRemote) "These idea is MINE! My Prescious!!! Yous can'ts haves its!"

j/k, Go ahead, have fun with it, I'm sure you already thought of it anyway. right??? :-)

How about .... Back panel removable / Wi-Fi enabled... but if you want, you can buy an additional back panel remote.

This also creates an easy way to replace damaged controls.

I also like the idea of releasing a full featured WiFi app that runs on PC and Mac.

Modular is good. :-)

Interesting question - will it work with R1?

Kudos to you and to whoever listened/thought it up at RED. It's amazing to me how more cameras don't take advantage of wireless remotes, a simple technology that's been around for decades.

Maybe we have found a use for the USB port on the RED One

a Wireless reciver could be plugged in

Yeah, a USB add-on for R1 that works with this would be great!

And yes, this community Rocks! So many good ideas everyday. Jim, you are a wise man, indeed. ;-)
