UPDATED: Backorder fulfillment policy

PREVIOUS POLICY: All backordered items are delivered in order of camera delivery date. Exception – Since 18-85 had assigned reservation numbers, we are fulfilling in order of reservation number. Once those are fulfilled, we will fulfill in order of camera delivery date.

NEW POLICY - EFFECTIVE 11/17/08: Since we are out of backorder with the RED ONE, backordered items will now be fulfilled in order of date/time order is placed. Exception – All customers with product currently on backorder will have their items fulfilled in order of camera delivery date. Any orders placed on 11/17 or later, will be fulfilled in order of date/time of order. 18-85 exception – all 18-85s will be fulfilled in order of reservation number. Any ordered without serial numbers before 11/17/08 will be fulfilled in order of camera delivery date. Any ordered after 11/17 will be fulfilled in order of order date/time.

Actually, the best person to ask about backorder status is Brian Byrne at brianb - at - red - dot - com . He is the BOMB SQUAD rep who coordinates backorder fulfillment.

RED-DRIVE, we expect to be out of backorder by end of this month. 16 GB CF CARDS, going through backorder now and a big batch is going through QC right now so expect us to get through that backorder quickly as well. RED-RAM, should ship a limited first run soon and then ship production quantities starting in the next few weeks.
