I noticed that Apple Trailers is presenting the clips form the new Will Smith movie in 2:1 - not a common format for film productions -

Does anyone know if they maybe shot on RED?

Hmm, with the Apple Trailers I get

480p: 848x400 -> 2.12
720p: 1280x608 -> 2.11
1080p: 1920x912 -> 2.11

But google says it's shot in standard 2.35:1.

the different aspects are accounting for macroblocking in the codec -
though 2:1 fits perfectly into macroblocking equations - so not sure why they have it displayed in such a weird aspect

not to mention that the present aspect is far off from a 2.35:1 source -

While it is an Escape Artists film - the same company that produced Knowing - there is no DIT listed in the credits.

Speaking of this film, does anyone have ANY idea what it's about? I found the trailer to be one of the most confusing I've ever seen.

Having spent 2 years at Escape Artists, I've been through the script a few times. It's a pretty damn good story and Gabriele is a fantastic director. Per the IMDB synopsis, Will Smith will play the role of a suicidal, guilt-ridden man who attempts to make amends for his past. This gesture, which should be his end, marks his future. He crosses the tunnel of desperation but instead he finds the light thanks to a meeting with a woman who pulls him away from his agony.

Agreed. I've seen the trailer a few times, and somehow it seems to make less sense each time I see it.
