1080P Frames Rates?

Any idea when these will be determined for R1 and future brains?

I can so use a 150 fps for 1080p or even 720p. 120fps is cutting me short. i'm very used to the 150fps especially when slowing normal runs.. 120fps still seems a little too fast for me.

I had this girl run on a beach.. and this other actor running on a balcony for a commercial.. they looked a little too fast.. I had to go for 150 fps arri for those shots.

I downrez to SD so anything goes for me.

I agree Akube - 120 is clearly faster then 150 to the eye, so a HS Arri is a better option. It's a shame to need to hire a totally diff package to get that extra speed.

Faster than 120 will never happen with the current R1 hardware. The Mysterium sensor has a max cycle rate of 120Hz.

On the Spec sheet for the new brains, Jim lists the Red One as having the Mysterium sensor and a 1080p FPS - TBD. If it can't go faster then 120 why not just state the speed at 120? Maybe it's a labeling error?

I think it depends on how they achieve 1080p in-camera. If it's a cropped sensor area, which would be a bit smaller than the 2K 2:1 crop, 120fps should be possible. If they derive it by some sort of scaling from a larger area such as 3K or 4K sensor area, the FPS will be a lot lower.

IMO, I don't see any reason for the RED One to record 1080p. The 4xHD mode scales directly to 1080p and H proxies of that format play natively at 1080p. It would be nice to have 1080p monitoring / output while recording to 1080p, not just on playback.

I believe the mysterium x has asignificantly faster read-reset (i think i read 2x faster) than the current mysterium, which should mean the compression/processing of data could start earlier, and hence finish soon, and possibly lead to more frames per second getting processed. Who knows, i'll be waiting for Monstro

I think having a 1080p might give some benefits for those with a quick turn-around - read: ENG/Documentary, or where space is at a premium.
