I'm under the impression that our camera came with the updated audio board but want to be sure (# 3967). I'm also curious if there's any way to know if the mini-XLR pigtail or mini-to-standard XLR adapter that I recieved with the camera, has the attenution that was needed for the old board. Having some trouble getting audio in and don't want to assume anything or spend time troubleshooting with the wrong gear.
Thanks

We have 3971 and it does have the new board.

There was a cut-off Date after which all new boards were installed.

Thanks Martin. Only 4 cameras off makes us like cousins I think.

I've gotten audio in successfully from my 416 switching to line in and through an SD 302. Levels seemed to be good, so I'm guessing there isn't any attenuation in the adapters. Haven't tried a dynamic mic in but I'll check that next to see if it's just the phantom. Would be nice though to be able to go direct in and use the camera's phantom.

Has anybody tried taking in audio from a DigiDesign Live Venue system?

2973 came with the new board and adapter. I have run a Marshall Phantom powered mic right from the cam with good results. Going to try a mix board setup next.

2733 was delivered with the old board, because it was in august (and not after september 15th). So, itīs not the cam number which counts, the new board was installed according to the delivery date.

What? I have 2880 and it doesn't have the new audio board. Did you wait a while to take delivery or am I just doing something wrong?

At the RED store, Marco told me that the new boards come with a pigtail from the mini-bnc to full size that incorporates an adapter on one end.

Do you have the cord with the removable adapter?

I think that would mean that you have the new board then, if I understood him correctly.

I have a mini-to-mini cord with separate full size adapter. Is the adapter maybe were the atennuation happens if it is? It wouldn't seem that the cable has anything in line, just straight from connector to connector. What setup did any of you guys who got cameras with the old board get?

The signal seems to be clean with a line signal, and levels seem to be on track, so maybe there's is none.

If you look into the PL mount and see small pins at the top of the flange you got the new board.
If you just got empty holes it's the new one.

For the new board you need the two piece adaptors (Metal XLR>mini XLR adaptor tube, separate mini XLR>mini XLR cord) This contains no attenuation.

For the old board you need the single piece XLR>mini XLR cord, with resistors in the XLR end.
