Well we haven't been making too much noise over the past year but we've been quietly servicing the RED post market out of our small Union Square office and today is a proud day in our short history. We broke ground on our new NYC facility which will be open Jan 1! 5 rooms, full RED post, VFX, and our super secret '4k LAB.' Fellow reduser Jason Diamond (Avid workflow master) and his gear will be joining us, bringing our arsenal up to 5 RED ONEs.

Thanks to everyone!! This has been a phenomenal journey over the past year and this marks our bonafied arrival to the high end post market in NYC. The growth we've had in our first year has really been astonishing. Jim and company may have had something to do with that. :)

Btw, Katabatic is HIRING:

Senior Scratch Colorist
Junior Scratch Colorists
Assistant Editors
LAB Techs
Producers

Congrats Emery, Katabatic has been doing great high end commercial work that rivals the quality of Nice Shoes and Co3 here in NYC. I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys have coming up with the new sexy facility up and running.

Congrats.

But just a suggestion... I know the unfinished look is all the rage with interior decorators... but I think it's needs something more... not sure what... but something.

I've sent a few clients Emery's way for transcoding and dailies, and the service has always been as promised: fast and correct. With the new facility, he'll be able to service even more clients in the digital lab arena.
Congrats!
Harry

Haha, thanks Jason. We'll try some paint on the walls and floors on the, err, floors. :) Construction is coming along really nice. Ill post some more pics soon. Hopefully we can move in before the end of the year but its all in the hands of the construction gods.

Tell ya what, if it's not sexy enough for you when it's done we'll give you a free camera rental.

Much appreciate Harry. Yes the new spot will be able to handle much larger volume. We'll have a dedicated lab for all kinds of digital transfers. We're calling it the 4K LAB :matrix: but I suspect we'll be piping 5k, 6k, 9k, and 28k soon enough. Course the whole place is going to be a major upgrade from our current operation so a big party will be in order :)

This coming from one of the finest AC's in NYC. Means a lot.

We're coming along slower than expected (which is to be expected right? ) but we've come a long way and still on track for January. Couple new shots for your viewing pleasure:

There are some damn sexy black wood floors hiding under that paper and Im dying to rip it off!
