As an assistant editor I am copying the Rd3 files from the data rangler to my drive and then later copying them off my drive onto a removable drive and posting onto my Post house for Online.
What is the best way to check my data vs the data rangler and then my data vs the Post house where the removable drives are going to?
I am on Mac osx and the post house is on windows.
thanks

R3D Data Manager is specifically designed for this task. Your data wrangler would use it to copy the R3D files from the Red Media to your shuttle drive. When it does so, it would create MD5 sums of the R3D files.
Then you would use R3D Data Manager to copy from the shuttle drive to your system. R3D Data Manager would automatically compare your copied files to the checksums first generated from the Red Media, ensuring that your copy is exactly what was on the Red Media.
You can use it for every time you copy the R3D files. Each time you copy them, it will ensure that the latest copy matches the first. Even when you go to archive the material, you can ensure that the zeros and ones are correct when you read it again years from now.
