what is the close focus on the lens?

Fair enough - what is the reservation scenario - is it 1000 down for the camera and 1000 down for the lens?

The zoom reservation was $750 down.

I have a question - does anyone feel like guessing the diameter of the front of the lens. I was looking at matte boxes and was wondering if any of the Chrosziel hdv models would work. This one has a 110mm Rear Plate with step down ring.

The images of the RED 300mm seems to suggest that a bigger 6X6 matte box would be a good idea.
