hi everyone
im having a bit of a problem, i need to render around 190 clips. i can render and grade individual clips fine in red alert and i can save settings. however the file saves as a RLX file out of red alert. RED RUSHES though will only open RSX files. what are those ? does that mean i can not apply exposure/contrast and so on settings when doing batch processing ?
thanks for the help.

Domink,
I had the same confusion before, but now I get it.
When you work on each R3D files in RED Alert!, RSX is automatically generated in the same folder as the R3D file you worked on. So in the REDrush, you have to choose the RSX file in the R3D folder you are opening, not the RLX.

so if i do basic adjustments to an R3d in red alert....and then take that RSX file from that folder into red rushes....will it apply to the whole batch then ?
thank you for the quick answer :)

In REDrush, go to Render tab, select RSX in the Look Source pull down, it's up to you but select Color Space and Gamma Sapece to be Look Source (then both will be set to whatever you chose in RED Alert!, thus on RSX file created), then in the RSX settings, you can choose either Clip RSX or selected RSX on RSX Source. Clip RSX would be selecting RSX in the clips folder, so each clips would use the RSX in their folders, Selected would apply one setting to all (I think).
Try some.

Or have a look at your Swiss fellow's Clipfinder to grade several batches with RSX settings.
Until RED will eventually give us the "grand unified looks theory" ( i.e. one compatible looks setting file from camera to post), this is how it works: RSX for RA and RLX for L&T.

Is there a way to replace the metadata baked in the R3D with the grade you made with RA? So that the grade will be native metadata in L&T or in Color?
