hi, just a few questions:

will the red prime set will be build like the Optimo Rouge....(my english is too bad to talk about the technical difference, somebody can jump in and do this part for me)

i ask because the optimo guy at ibc talked something about same quality---lower price because of the way how the opimo rouge is build in comparison to regular lenses.

i know nothing about lens development/building costs...maybe it was bwrong what this guy said.

and if so, i guess because epic and scarlet will be mirrorless too, you could use the primes anyway.

but i would prefer to have them oldschool fashioned.
would make the lenses more usable...

did i miss any updates? when they will be available.....just guestimates of course.

do we know tech specs?
whats the diameter for example?

I got to play with the new Red 300mm today, very nice! Quality is totally pro.

Isnt it the same as the old 300 (which got nothing but rave reviews as far as I saw) in a snazzier housing?

Yes but the housing is a big improvement and is supposed to be the same as the new primes.

The new 300mm is sick! If the rest of the RED primes are this good (or better?), then buying them will be a no-brainer.

I still haven't had a chance to do a complete range of tests with the lens, but I received it last friday and used it on a real job yesterday. The mechanics are very smooth and have a great feel. Wonderfully long focus throw, marks seem to be accurate, it's just an all around nice lens. Very pro.

Wish it had an integrated means of support like the old model. That's my only complaint about the new Pro version.
