I'm currently invovled in a project where we have two RED ONE cameras and DEVA IV for audio recording. To lock it all together we have 3 lockit boxes and all devices are receiving timecode and trilevel genlock from the Lockit box. I have the 501 controller from the manufacturer of the Lockit boxes to lock everything together. When we make the daylies in Final Cut Pro we merge the audio with the video to make one edidable clip for our editor. Even with the genlock connected there is ALMOST always 1 frame offset (audio before video). The most recent recordings have about 80% accuracy, 20% of the recordings on one CF card are 1 frame off. It's almost as if the recordings get better each day passing. We have when this is written about 30 days left of shooting, so if someone knows any solution he/she will become my best friend in the whole world :D

All you have is an offset of one frame not an extra frame right? If so, just line them up (I know this isn't fun, but at least you have audio). Are the 'off' clips in a row or scattered all through the day?

Hi Brian
It's the time I'm worried about not the job satisfaction for the employee whos job is to ingest the media into the raid and make backups onto blueray. This person can bearly keep up with the film crew and the speed of post production is slowing everything down and to keep deadline I would like not have to line up every other clip because the camera can't hold it's timecode :( So please, if anyone knows a solution to this problem, please advice.
Best. Ingvar
