I was listening to the latest Redcenter. They were talking about how sometimes its preferable to have a deliverable codec come right out of the camera, without worrying about Raw files (though they are great).
Sometimes you have to shoot and deliver quickly.
Imagine a module, that would plug into the data output port, and apply a user generated LUT to the RAW data and write it to CF, or Drive, or whatever, in one of several codecs.
That way a scarlet/epic can quickly turn out h264, DPX, prores, etc, and the camera can work in a new market.
BTW I probably wouldnt GET this module, because I think most of my clients want RAW, and I'm comfortable with the RAW workflow for my own projects.
However it would be a cool way to deliver dailies, if you could co-record the RAW to another spot.
