Does anybody plan shooting weddings with RED? :red_bandana:

Yep, several. They all end in VFX gore-fests.

Yeah, the wedding cake turns out to be a flesh eating substance...

"It must have been LOVE " and they both are " Love in Vain " of each other in front of the RED Camera for a 4K Res. screen there.
The sun is Watching the RED Couple outside the D-Cinema.

I'e thought quite a bit about this, and I actually think that a wedding filmed with three Red Ones could be spectacularly beautiful. The problem of course is that the market for people willing to shell out $10k for a wedding is fairly small I would think.
I think Red would be great not because of 4k (you'd probably finish at 1080p) but for the depth of field, latitude, slo mo, etc. It could be gorgeous.

In all seriousness I do think there is a market there for 'RED' weddings. You would need to do the thing justice though with lighting, track etc. I'd be very happy to do one if the client understands the commitment, (to the project not their betrothed )

Mmmm,... The best wedding shoots I have done were a long time ago - on super8! Sometimes the less you can see the better.

Set your shutter to 1/500 on the red and your the videographer and the photographer. 9.5 megapixels per frame you could blow that up to 16x20 with a little effort.

Lol, I've wondered what would happen if you rigged a groom with squibs then at the proper moment in the wedding, have the "spurned ex-girlfriend" come in armed with a blank firing gun and have her waste the groom, with blood spraying all over the bride! Problem is, you'd have some concealed carrying wedding guest who would then truly waste the actress ex-girlfriend. :-0

i've shot weddings with mini35 without any additionnal light, tape measuring or camera assistant.
If i had the Red, i think it would be easier :clown2:

Why allways this boring threads about wedding :whistling: To enlarge this discussion a bit: would it be possible to use RED with a snorkel to film the birth of a future RED-wedding-cameraman. And what happens, if we produce ugly dead pixels? Would there be any budget for it?

There are weddings at all levels and the well-to- do always want the best.
I started out forty years ago doing weddings and did some really big ones (on 16mm film - cutting on a moviola) but I wouldn't want to touch one now for less than 20K.
Too much hassle and this arena has become too cutthroat with every kid with a camera who thinks their smart by undercutting the competition.
If "Bradjolie" wants me to do their wedding I think 3 REDs would be very appropriate and I just may consider doing another - barring that - too much stressfor too little money these days.
aloha,
Keith
