What is the REDmote? Is it how you control the settings on the EPIC? So its necessary?

As far as I understand it, it is the new control panel you have on the back of the R1. However you no have options. The mote, the side handle etc

By the renders (and common sense) it would seem that one Redmote ships free with each brain, since the camera does need some way of controlling it! Additional Redmotes and/or side handles would cost extra I'd assume.
Red, correct me if I'm wrong on this....

I'll bet not...
Common sense, which is all too often neither common nor sensible, could perhaps more reasonably indicate that a modular system would not include the Redmote.
It will certainly be most helpful when Red announces some prices for the needed accessories.
Good shooting and best regards,

The redmote seems to be a complex device (wireless 100 ft operation etc.)
I hope I`m wrong but fear that it has to be bought separately.
But Paul, you`re right, so far there seems to be no alternative to it...

There is also the DSLR style side handle. The Mote is listed as one of the bundled parts of the X package. Based on the multiple options and it being singled out as a module, I will ASSUME that it is an individual purchase.

Where do you see that the RedMote is included in the Epic X upgrade package?
Good shooting and best regards,

He he he "free".. I don't think so. The R1 was a paperweight without purchasing additional items. The brain will be just that... The Brain.
Heart, lungs, and legs will come at an additional cost
Bummer I know..

The mote is part of the X-package? Not that I don't want you to be right, but can you please link me to the post which states this.
The TEXT of the Epic-X flyer says you are wrong, but the PICTURE of the Epic-X flyer shows you are right.
Hmmm.. If you are right, that will be major

I just really really hope that the screen on the REDmote is not related, in any shape or form, to the screen on the back of the R1. The renderings have me a little worried.

I'd love to see some prices coming along with the accesories, giving us a closer look at how much these packages will cost eventually...

I think it was in the render, not the text.

If it is in the render and not in the text for the X package then perhaps it is something that comes with every brain purchase. I think I have seen some renders with two REDmotes on one rig??????
