Pocket Red

Okay, so I can`t afford Red one, and I was going to buy the HVX200 with an SLR adaptor, but then, suddenly, "POCKET RED" is the (new hope) on the horizon.
I have a very small producton, Indie style, arthouse, where budget is low but time is high and quality is high. I can, and will wait for the Pocket Red. Please if anyone knows a possible price point and can even speculate or give any details about the controls - please do. Sincerely :cold:

i just doubt this is going to happen very soon. it's under development. they have an avalanche of work raining down on them right now just to get RED ONE out. you would be better off buying a camera you can afford, making a bit of money or at least completing some of your projects and then selling that camera. it's a lot cheaper than losing your time opportunity....

I agree. That's what I'm doing now. I have to put up with this stupid camera I have now(won't say the brand, but it starts with a J) and when time to take delivery of the RED nears, I'll sell the shiznit out of it.

I don't think there's anything disrespectful about it. THere's humor to be had in the "prove me wrong" part.

Plus, to get respect one usually has to earn it first. I'm pretty sure Brook has earned it.

I respectfully disagree with your point there. A basic level of respect should be accorded to everyone. Respect shouldn't dispensed the same way as trust or admiration.

While I'm sure I'm not the only one who has a higher level of respect and admiration for Brook because of his knowledge and work here, I also hope that we all have a basic level of respect for each other as human beings. Of course, respect can be lost once a person does or say something that discredits the respect given to him or her.

You know what? I respectfully agree with that ideal.... for the most part. The only flaw is that it's a bit like assuming that common-sense is common to all people. But, hey I'll bite. :)

That said, when somebody comes on after one posts and gets disrespectful of somebody that's an important part of this forum, then it might be fair for their basic-level of respect to be suspended. :)

I have sold every camera I have ever owned. There was something that always irritated me about every one. Always some compromise, or function that I had no control over that worked against me. That is why I put a reservation on RED, even though it is 5X more expensive then any other camera I have owned.

I have 50-60 vintage computers and video game consoles, but that's just me :) I also have around 25 vintage camcorders, so I guess I lied a bit above, but I have never used those.

I think it'll take quite a few months before the presence of the RED One starts to make people realize that buying any other digital camera makes no sense.

We may see a CGI rendered Pocket Red (RED TWO?) prototype in 2008. Release probably won't be until 2009.

So until then, go buy your HVX200's, XH-A1's, and HV20's and earn money for a RED ONE and RED TWO combo!!!! Weee!
