I wonder if it'll run redcode raw natively...

I wrote a long ago that the RED Team should make a wireless connection between camera and iPhone. That feature can be used in many ways from (iPhone) like an additional touch screen LCD connected with RED ONE (SI 2K mini camera has touch screen LCD right now) to interacting with FCP 6 lite and also working with LUTs etc. There are really many or countless possibilities.

Maybe this is what HDfor Indies was going to break?

The utility of being able to cut footage on an iPhone would be pretty marginal, if it had to be processed through a computer first. What's the point of cutting on-set on an iPhone if you've got to have a laptop there anyway to convert the footage? Why not just cut on the laptop?
The interface shown in that photo, a tiny version of the desktop FCP interface, is also completely ludicrous. If you did have a little editing program on a device that size, that's not the UI you would use.
While there's no technical reason you couldn't do straight-cut editing of low resolution proxies on a device with the capabilities of the iPhone... color me extremely skeptical.

Lol,
It'd be great if you could use it as a bluetooth remote for the camera though:)

Looks like a Photoshop hack to me, but what do I know? I would love to see some third party apps that allow you to log footage and possibly have a very low res ingest for previewing some stuff--but cuts? Hmmm.... very fishy.

That was what I was alluding to. The whole idea of iPhone is ?
The fact Apple went with Cingular (ATT) as an exclusive will
kill sales anyway. So the idea of getting an iPhone to edit video -
is dumb. I would like to see a bigger 16:9 iPod device....
I just don't want the phone.

I want EVERYTHING about it except the phone. A PDA that runs OSX is just outstanding. Now if it was only truly OSX and not just a portable revision of it...

It's a photoshop crap...
Please notice the "flatness" of the device, the shadow over the hands, the light completely wrong, the absence of any glares on the screen... and so on.

Yup, it's photoshop. But amazing how many people fall for it. They want to "believe".

Maybe they could just make the iphone shoot in 4k, run leopard and have a 4k screen? Oh yeah, and make phone calls!

I hear there is the new martyrium 0,5k sensor coming which will turn the iPhone into a true pocket cam, code-named iFlicker - or something like that :-)

editing on the iphone would be overkill and unreasonable... BUTTTTT
a wireless connection to act as a director monitor would be a sick idea.

iPhone might have some scaled down version of iLife on it. Why not? And remember iMovie is part of iLife.
