As working four years now as a colorist and six years as a photographer .. I noticed that the best color reproduction possible out of a raw file is to do the grading one step by controling the parameters on the raw file directly as for the controls availale in light room and adobe raw converter plug in .. These settings where you are able to natively control the white balance and roll off the high lights un-destructively do a camera calibration etc .. And save them inside xml.. As adobe now in the game of providing support for red footage.. Why not that we could have a similar grading tool provided with the plug in for red.. Also to know that such a thing would be needed for stills that is coming from scarlets and epics.. That tool i wish it would be accessible from premiere pro or as an effect stacked under any effect you gonna add later to the clip..
Thanks

I'd like to see a "Lightroom for Video" that lets you do the quick grading and such before import into the NLE. That way you could get the color tuning and tweaking out of the way with presets and everything before you import. And the experts could take care of that part. So you'd have the footage "pre-graded" before editing. All the tweaks could be written into the XMP file, presumably, to be picked up by the NLE. Same way it's done with raw files in photography today. Looks like the motion raw process has a ways to go. It took the photo raw process a little while to get where it is today, after all.

While I'm on the subject, if the software could also handle my assets, like Lightroom, I'd really be in business. :)
