Hi everyone,
Actually this is my first post. And I am very admire with Red ONE Camera. But the point to say is is there any chance that there will be a RED Camera design for LEFT hand User when they are trying to put the camera on shoulder when using with the EVF? Also the interface linkage on the left side instated on the right side.
I know this is odd. But some time left hand user like to use the camera on the left side rather then using on the right side. (Very Unlucky I am LEFT handed...)
And I am not very happy with now a days MOST (I MEAN MOST > NEARLY ALL HD/SD camera) designed for the market to use on the right hand side of your body.
I think there would be a Market if it was also design for use on the left hand side of the body.
I am FROM HONG KONG.

Yeah, lefties are screwed with most camera designs. I just don't know if 10% of users (most of which have learned to use righty cameras) is enough to make a backwards camera...

I know that..... Even I am using on right hand.....
But You know It keep making me feeling weir or uncomfortable to use on the right....
I want to make this feeling to gone away....
PS: You never know what happen if there is a camera for the lefties....
I will be the first one to be VERY VERY VERY HAPPY....

i don't see any reason you couldn't exploit RED's modularity and set up a camera with the viewfinder/lcd on the right side of the camera. i eat and write left handed, and do everything else right handed. but i'm left eyed. i look through viewfinders with my left eye. i guess i'm a mutt :)

... would be great.
Right handed and left-eye dominant here.

The critical part is flipping the evf image. Hope they could add this feature on the Epic/Scarlets or even back fill the feature on the R1 but I suspect the fix may be more complex than just a software update....maybe lcd driver chip functionality blah blah is hard wired. But hey a lot of consumer lcd's flip the image, so if they could, it'll be a nice feature for Epic/Scarlet etc.

I'm a lefty... but i have no problem using right handed cameras. I actually like it because my "free hand" is my left hand so shoulder mounted, I can use it to adjust the lens and hit menus with my left hand with more precision..
Funny.. I thought it was always the Right handed guys that got screwed with cameras that were oriented to sit on the right shoulder :)

Hi everyone,
Also the interface linkage on the left side instated on the right side.
I know this is odd.
Maybe he interface between the EVF and linkages to camera should be on the left of the EVF for RIGHT handed users, coming up and over the EVF to the camera body.
That way the EVF and the operator's right eye can be closer to the camera body, where it should be.

I don't have any problem operating the camera per se, however I do find that when shoulder mounted I get a headache after a extensive use of my right eye in the EVF.

I'm right handed, but I'm already accustomed to being comfortable with the left hand in adjusting lens. I would not be able to use my right hand for that if I had to start now.

One option, but it will introduce other problems later on in Post: Use the camera upside down..... not sure if this is possible with the existing hardware, though.... (waiting for my first RED ONE at this moment)
