Been looking high and low for a manual that comes with REDCine and RED Alert! No luck. Unless they are hidden REAL good.

Do manuals exist?

The videos are great, but a good manual would be killer. When you have specific question an appendex would be helpful.

Then again they are in Beta! (when will they be out of Beta?)

I hate video manuals. I read much faster than any of those things are.

With all things RED I basically dont need a manual, but sometimes a quick check would be helpfull. Not possible with videos. Have to listen to the whole production...

There are no manuals. Only the videos - they are quite informative and they get you started pretty well - remember the best way to learn any software is start with a tutorial and then get stuck in yourself to find all of the quirks.

If you really want I wrote up a short introduction manual for my clients for Red Cine (although it is based on the early builds) and is very basic. PM if you want it, it's really a written word version of the videos though.

For people like me that doesn´t have a good skill of english this videos are a problem so they are so quick, nice but very quick. Maybe a written manual permits me to go slowly but also have a better understanding.
For me a wrtitten manual would be perfect.
I have only any wuestion. Is there any compatibility between Red Cine and Alert ? I mean Projects, settings, etc.

The only thing I don't quite understand about RED ALERT are the three views- Defaults, Metadata and Grade.

When I make some adjustments with Grade selected then save it as a preset, when I go to add the same preset in Log and Transfer the picture stays the same, the adjustments don't "take" even though the preset name is in the Color Profile column of Log and Transfer.

What am I doing wrong?
