If you could only have ONE spot (or light) what would it be? And why?

Just curious...

(I am sure it wasnīt the answer you wanted, but I couldnīt resist)

well... that could be it! However, that doesn't count since everybody already has it (most of the time).

So, to rephrase: if you could only have one light (spot), except for the sun, what would it be? :bleh:

I guess it is just another way of asking what is your favorite light? I mean, I know there's no such thing as a perfect light, as it depends on the shot, the location, etc.. But what I'd like to know is, what is the light that you really, really like to look at? or to use?

OK, the blue spot was an obscure reference to a Steve Martin routine but seriously, the Sun.

I've given it a bit more thought and I have to go with IMGs choice. Sometimes the Sun doesn't take direction too well.

Yeah the sun is nice but you kind of have to bring more stuff to work with it.

The Mole 9 is a good choice.

Oh I forgot the why, sorry.

I love the Mole 9 light because it is a very broad and soft source with a good amount of kick and control.

You can choose from wide, medium and spot bulbs, throw it through grid cloth or bounce it or go direct for moon light, lots of options.

The downside of the light though is its size.
